School Reward Systems

The school is very keen on recognising and rewarding children’s effort and achievement with their learning and behaviour. Each class teacher may use their own systems, but the school-wide systems include:

House Points

All children are members of one of four houses; Foxes (blue), Tigers (green), Riders (red) and Lions (yellow). Children represent their house in lots of different ways – at sports day, through inter house competitions and by earning house points for good learning behaviours, excellent work and teamwork. House points totals are kept throughout the year and the house with the most points receives a trophy. During the Golden Book Assembly on the last day of each half term, we will share the winning house for that half term. As a celebration, this house will be able to come to school on the ‘first Friday of each half term’ in their house colours for a ‘dress down’ day.

Celebration Assembly

Each week, all class teachers will choose one child who has worked well throughout the week and really demonstrated great achievement for them. They will be celebrated in our Friday Celebration Assembly, receiving an Achievement Certificate.

Fossebrook Values Certificate

Each week, all class teachers will choose one child who really demonstrated one of our learning values: Be Creative, Remember, Show Respect, Collaborate, Be Curious & Have Courage . They will be celebrated in our Friday Celebration Assembly, receiving a Values Certificate and badge to wear with pride.

Golden Book Assembly, celebrated with Parents & Carers

At the end of every half term, we want to celebrate children who are constantly great in every way. Six children from each class will be chosen by their class teacher at the end of each half term in a special Golden Assembly to be celebrated with their parents and carers. Their photo will be taken and placed in our Golden Book. Key Stage One Golden book will be at 9:15am on the last Friday of each half term and Key Stage Two Golden book will be at 2:30pm on the last Friday of each half term.
